Nominated for “Website of the Year” 2011

With great joy I would like to annouce that my website once again has been selected for “Website of the Year” under the category photography. In last years competition it was voted 4th for the category photography, let’s see if we can make it to this year’s top 3! In this post I will explain in English and Dutch how to vote for my website.

English:
Each year Clickx, a Belgian computer magazine holds a competition to find the best Belgian website of the year. They compose a list of what they find to be the best websites, during a period running from 15 november till 29 november people can vote for their favorite websites. This my website www.lodeschildermans.com was selected for Site of the Year under the category photography. As for prizes the voters get all the good stuff, we (the nominees) only get the glory of calling our website, Website of the Year 2011.

Nederlands:
Elke jaar stelt Clickx magzine een lijst op, wat voor hun de beste websites van het jaar zijn. Dit jaar ben is mijn website www.lodeschildermans.com geselecteerd voor Site van het Jaar onder de categorie fotografie. Van 15 november tot 29 november kunt u stemmen op de geselecteerde websites. De andere genomineerde kunt u hier terugvinden.

How To Vote:

English:
Here I will explain how you can vote. Go to Site of the Year, the website is in Dutch, but there are two ways you could do this. 1) Follow this tutorial step by step. 2) Go to Google Translate and let it translate the whole site.

Nederlands:
Hier zal ik stap voor stap uit leggen hoe je kan stemmen.

Step 1:
English:
Go to www.sitevanhetjaar.be and click “STEM NU”.

Nederlands:
Ga naar www.sitevanhetjaar.be en klik op “STEM NU”.

Step 2:
English:
The voting works with email registration, type in a valid email and hit “Verder”. You can only once per email-adress. So if you have mutiple emails, you could vote with each one.

Nederlands:
Het gestemmen gebeurd via email registratie, vul een geldig email adres in en klik op “Verder”. Je kan maar 1keer stemmen per adres, als je meerdere email-adressen bezit kan je wel met elk adres stemmen.

Step 3:
English:
To complete the registration you are asked to give a password, type in a validation word and to agree with the terms of the competition. Afterwards click on “Registeren”

Nederlands:
Om de registratie te voltooien vraagt men om een passwoord in te geven, een validatie woord in te typen en akkoord te gaan met de gebruiksvoorwaarden van de webstrijd.

Step 3b:
English:
If you voted on last year’s “Website of the Year” competition, the site will recognise your email-adress and will ask the password you chose back then. Hit “Verder” to continue. If you cannot remember you password click “Wachtwoord vergeten?” to receive it. Skip Step 4 and go straight to Step 5.

Nederlands:
Als je vorig jaar al hebt gestemd voor “Site van het jaar” dan zal de site je email adres herkennen en vragen achter het toen gekozen wachtwoord. Vul deze in en klik “Verder”. Als je uw wachtwoord niet meer herinnerd klik op “Wachtwoord vergeten?” om het terug te ontvangen. Sla Step 4 over en ga direct naar Step 5.

Step 4:
English:
After you completed Step 3, an email has been send to your email-adres that you have filled in. In Step 4 they ask you to fill in activationnumber, the number is in the email, or you could press the link that is in the email which will redirect you to Step 5.

Nederlands:
Na het invullen van Stap 3 word er een email verzonden naar het opgegeven email-adres. In Stap 4 word gevraagt een actieverings-nummer in te geven, deze bevindt zich in de email. In de email word ook een link meegegeven die je naar Stap 5 brengt.

Step 5:
English:
This is the most important step of all, the voting itself. Search for the “fotografie” section, find “Lode Schildermans” choose it and 2 other out of all the nominated websites. You’ll have to select 3 websites in total, they can be from different categories. Now hit “Verstuur” at the bottom of the page. You have voted and I thank you for it.

Nederlands:
Dit is de belangrijkste stap van allemaal, het stemmen zelf. Zoek achter “fotografie”, vink “Lode Schildermans” aan en selecteer 2 andere websites. Je moet op in totaal op 3 websites stemmen, mag uit verschillende categoriën zijn. Klik op “Verstuur”. Nu heb je een geldige stem uitgebracht, en hiervoor dank ik je.

Option:
English:
After you have voted you can win some prizes. Just click “WIN NU” to enter the competition.

Nederlands:
Na het stemmen kan je meedoen met de prijsvraag voor prachtige prijzen te winnen. Klik “WIN NU” om mee te doen.
